Simulation Game on Local Politics

The strategy game is a method of political education that aims to simulate as real as possible the activity of an existing political institution.

The project aims to counteract the lack of interest of young people in political representatives and politics in general. In this strategy game, young people, students between 14 and 20 years old, become representatives of their local community, prepare a local councils meeting by forming political groups, drafting proposals and interpellations and make their own decisions. In this way, they understand the decision-making process at the local level more easily and find out what the democratic mechanisms of participation in public decision-making are. Young people are given the chance to learn skills that are not necessarily highlighted in the instructional-educational process in schools or in everyday life, developing their civic attitude, their quality as citizens and members of the community they belong
