FES – 100 Years of Social Engagement and Solidarity

Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) marked its 100th anniversary also in Romania with a special celebratory event on the 3rd of December 2025, bringing together distinguished guests, partners, and friends of the foundation. The evening was filled with joy, positive energy, and reflection on a century of commitment to democracy, social justice, and solidarity.

The event was opened by Her Excellency Angela Ganninger, Ambassador of Germany to Romania, who delivered a welcoming address highlighting the important role of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in promoting democracy and international cooperation.

The anniversary celebration also provided an opportunity to express our sincere appreciation to Anna-Lena Koschig-Hölzl for her valuable contribution to strengthening social democracy in Romania and for her dedication over the past three and a half years as FES Country Representative in Romania.

In the same spirit of continuity, we were pleased to welcome Jacques Paparo as the new FES Country Representative in Romania. We look forward to continuing our work together and carrying forward a century-long tradition of social engagement and solidarity.

We thank everyone—those who joined us at the event and those who support us every day—for being part of the FES community.
