GENDER QUOTAS IN ROMANIA. How to win male allies for the introduction of quotas?

A conversation with Maria Noichl, MEP SPD, Member of the FEMM Committee, European Parliament

A fair and balanced representation of women in all spheres of life cannot be achieved without the active commitment of men to question rigid gender norms in society and the mechanisms that reproduce and perpetuate gender inequalities. This is especially true in politics, where women face the difficulty of being present in the electoral competition and the even greater difficulty of occupying eligible positions. More male allies committed to supporting gender equality and women's empowerment through the adoption of gender quotas would be instrumental in upholding and promoting women's rights and strategic interests. The question of how we win male allies is therefore a fundamental one.

On this topic, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Romania together with the Filia Center are pleased to invite you to an online conversation with Mrs. Maria Noichl, MEP SPD, member of the Commission for Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) and Co-President at the federal level of the Social Democratic Women's Working Group (ASF) in Germany.
