Leadership, Solidarity And Action for Social Democratic Women

From September 11–13, in Cluj-Napoca, the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation organized a new edition of its training program for social democratic women. The event brought together more than 25 leaders from OFSD organizations, mostly from northern and western Romania.

Over the course of three days, the participants had the opportunity to discuss the challenges and barriers women face in society and in politics, as well as concrete actions through which women’s political organizations can develop solutions to these issues in the future.

The special guest at this event was Ms. Zita Gurmai, president of PES Women, who shared her extensive European experience in promoting women’s rights and political representation.

The program’s agenda included practical sessions on topics such as gender equality, support for victims of domestic violence, maternal, sexual, and reproductive health, women’s political representation and access to positions of power, setting strategic priorities, and translating them into political action.
