FES Youth Study in Romania (2024). Presentation and debate

We invite you to the launch event of the Youth Study Romania (2024)

We invite you to the launch event of the Youth Study Romania (2024), a significant research initiative by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung. This study has been conducted in a regional context, following the previous studies carried out in 2014 and 2018/2019.

  • Time: October 18, 5.30 p.m.
  • Location: Hotel Novotel - Paris Conference Room (Calea Victoriei no 37B, Bucharest)

What are the opinions, fears, and aspirations of Romania's new generation amidst social inequalities? How do young people navigate between traditional values and modern aspirations? We will explore these questions together with the research team consisting of Gabriel Bădescu (coordinator), Radu Umbreș, Mălina Voicu, and Claudiu Tufiș.

The study explores the attitudes and behaviors of Romanian youth to reveal various aspects of their lives, including their views on society and politics. By examining this diverse and dynamic demographic, the research offers valuable insights into Romanian society as a whole and its potential for change.

The findings are based on data from a survey conducted by IPSOS between February and March 2024, featuring a representative sample of young people aged 14-29 in Romania. The study covers six key themes: (1) demographic attributes and trends, (2) education, (3) work and mobility, (4) family and future plans, (5) values, attitudes, and general perceptions, and (6) political attitudes and participation.
