Consensul de politică externă a României s-a dovedit unul de succes în ultimele trei decenii: a permis țării să rămână o insulă de relativă stabilitate internă, un partener previzibil și un bastion al lumii liberale din Europa de Est și regiunea Mării Negre.
Certitudinile pe care s-a construit acest consens nu mai sunt însă atât de sigure, iar actualul »climat al ideilor« de politică externă a României poate limita adevăratul potențial al țării în fața transformărilor globale actuale.
O analiză FES recent publicatăZeitenwende. Time for a Reassessment of Romania’s Foreign Policy? abordează presupuneri de bază, idei și predispoziții cheie care ghidează gândirea de politică externă a României. Și, prin intermediul acestui exercițiu, încearcă să atingă alte câteva întrebări importante: Care sunt provocările geopolitice, strategice, economice și diplomatice de astăzi cu care se confruntă România în lume? Cum îi modelează „climatul de idei” al României răspunsul la mediul internațional? Cum interferează evoluțiile globale și regionale actuale cu principalele angajamente geostrategice ale României, afectând statutul și securitatea acesteia? Și cum pot fi îmbunătățite performanța și eficiența politicii externe a României, ținând cont de aceste angajamente?
Pentru a răspunde la toate aceste întrebări, Biroul de la București al Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung invită la o dezbatere cu tema:
